Read Exodus 16, Mark 6:33-44; Mark 8:1-10

Families and friends sitting together. Laughter. Good food that someone else prepared and served. Picnics are so much fun, whether it’s a family affair, reunion, or church-wide event. How did we ever come up with such a good idea?

There is Biblical precedent. I can just imagine the children of Israel, gathered around their fires, eating the manna that God provided. Perhaps that was the first picnic attended by a large group of people. Then, on more than one occasion, Jesus provided thousands with dinner on the grounds.

There are many instances of people gathering for a meal recorded in our Bible. I get the feeling that our LORD is pleased when His people gather in His name to enjoy food and fellowship with one another. These were recorded for our instruction (Romans 15:4). As you gather for picnics this summer, remember the Giver of all good gifts.

One great way to weave worship into our daily lives is to fill it with music that helps focus our hearts on our great God.  Here is a Spotify playlist that has all the songs our worship team has led us through in the last month’s Sunday evening services to get you started. http://bit.ly/GBCPMThisMonth It’s updated weekly, so “follow” it to keep fresh worship music in your life.
