Read 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Devotional Thought
As Christians & non-Christians we all go through storms such as family sickness, moral failings, spiritual warfare, economic downturns & the current assault against religious freedom. Through these storms we can take comfort in His presence, by His Power & His Word.

When you need help: John 14:14 assures us, "If you ask anything in My Name, I will do it."

When you are weary: "Come to Me all you who labor & are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28.

When you are sick: Matthew 9:22 says, "Daughter, be of good comfort. Your faith has made you well."

Our family has endured a loss of our first grandchild, divorce & declining health recently. God has been our comforter & our church body of Christian friends has poured out their love & support.

Our God is the God of all comfort & He comforts us so we may comfort others. Christianity is a religion of comfort. As we go throughout life experiencing storms we can thank God for the comfort He supplies & look for opportunities to counsel & comfort others that are going through similar storms.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for Your Word that supports & encourages us when we experience the valleys that life brings to us. Help us to draw inspiration from these experiences that will help us minister to others as they go through the storms of life. We pray that Your Holy Spirit will guide us so we can guide others to Your Saving Grace.
