Read Luke 11:28, Matthew 5:16

What should we do when we hear from God?  At first this might seem like a rhetorical question. For most of us the easy answer is, “Well, listen and obey, of course!”  However, it may be difficult when we’re either not sure it’s truly God speaking, or what if what God has said doesn’t seem convenient for us right now?

In Luke 11:28 Jesus tells us that those who hear God’s word and obey it are blessed.  Often times we may reluctant to respond to His word. We may doubt what we heard; we may ask God for a sign; or we may simply say “no,” but in doing so we rob ourselves of seeing God’s awesome work in our lives.  Luke 16:10 reminds us that if we can be faithful with little God will also trust us with much more.

Let us remember that it is truly a blessing to hear from God, and once we do we are called to respond in faithfulness. Once we respond willingly to God we receive the peace of knowing we are following God’s plan for our lives. But, most importantly, by responding openly and publicly to God’s word we are able to let our “life shine before others..that they may glorify our Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

One great way to weave worship into our daily lives is to fill it with music that helps focus our hearts on our great God.  Here is a Spotify playlist that has all the songs our worship team has led us through in the last month’s Sunday evening services to get you started. http://bit.ly/GBCPMThisMonth It’s updated weekly, so “follow” it to keep fresh worship music in your life.
