Through Sunday School, children birth through Fifth Grade learn of God's love and His plan for their lives in an age appropriate way through Bible lessons and fun crafts.
Sunday mornings, 9:00-10:15 a.m.
Lower Joy for Birth-Preschool, Upper Joy for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade
Sunday School helps equip children to be more intentional and consistent disciples of Jesus.
Sunday School teachers facilitate the class each week. Often, they have assistant teachers in the room that may rotate week-to-week.
Over lunch, ask your child what they studied in Sunday School. Try to ask questions that can't be answered with a "Yes," "No," or "Fine." Try "What?", "How?" or "Who?" c:::iuestions like, "What was your favorite part of SS today?" or "How did your craft connect with your Bible time?" or "Who did you enjoy sitting with this week?" Often, the items your child brings home may give you some insight into where to steer your questions.
As children move into upper elementary school they participate in an opening rally at the beginning of the Sunday School hour. Each week at 9AM Fourth and Fifth Graders meet in Joy 217 for a brief time of worship, missions focus, announcements, prayer, and an introduction to the day's SS lesson as we help prep them for the Student Ministry.
