Read: Jude 20-21

Jude tells us to “pray in the Holy Spirit” and keep ourselves in the “love of God” (v 20-21).

We pray in the Spirit by being attentive to His instructions about God-glorifying prayer found in Scripture. Keeping ourselves in the love of God does not mean our efforts apart from grace secure redemption, because Jude understands we are kept by God for Jesus. God’s redemption provides the foundation of our security. His Spirit leads us to devote ourselves to fellowship with Him and His people.

Jude calls us to stand firm by waiting for the mercy of Jesus that leads to eternal life. Eternal life is our present possession, but we do not yet fully experience it because we have not yet been fully glorified. I am so eagerly anticipating this final act of redemption. Are you?

Building ourselves up in the most holy faith provides the content we need to defeat falsehoods. Praying in the Spirit gives us the power we need to stand firm.

I am looking forward to the mercy at that last day that gives us hope that our faith in Christ will prevail. Are you? I have a small group to encourage me to do these things and stand for the truth. Do you?

Adoration: God is holy, mighty, gracious, and merciful. Spend time declaring your love for Him and expressing your thoughts of praise and worship.

Confession: Ask God to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

Thanksgiving: Express your thankfulness to God for the blessings He has given you. When we consider that we deserve punishment because of our sinfulness, and instead God gives to us His love and mercy, our only response should be one of thankfulness.

Supplication: Petition God regarding your family and your ministry.  Ask for help and guidance in sharing your Jesus with others and helping others grow in Him.  Offer prayers concerning your activities for this day and any special concerns you may have.  Intercede on behalf of local, national, and world missions.  Pray the Great Commission would be fulfilled and for any special concerns you may have for missions.
