Read: 1 Corinthians 2:2

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you are trying to explain your faith in Jesus to someone who does not know Christ? You go through all the prescribed methods, and all you get is the proverbial ‘deer in the headlights’ look. Do not panic. Do not beat yourself up. You are not alone – all of us have had those moments. We put too much pressure on ourselves to have the perfect presentation, to have the perfect collection of Bible verses.

The Apostle Paul sums up in this one little verse all we need to know to be effective witnesses. We do not need a theological background. We don’t even need a huge vocabulary. All we need to do is believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Holy God and that He died on the Cross as payment for our sins. Paul used very simple words to share the Good News, and that is all we need to do. Sometimes, it takes only a kind word from us to open the door of someone’s heart to allow the Lord to enter. Sometimes, it is a small act of kindness. As children of the Risen Lord, we need to remember that we may be the only Bible some people may ever read.

Lord, I pray that my words and actions glorify you.

Adoration: God is holy, mighty, gracious, and merciful. Spend time declaring your love for Him and expressing your thoughts of praise and worship.

Confession: Ask God to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

Thanksgiving: Express your thankfulness to God for the blessings He has given you. When we consider that we deserve punishment because of our sinfulness, and instead God gives to us His love and mercy, our only response should be one of thankfulness.

Supplication: Petition God regarding your family and your ministry.  Ask for help and guidance in sharing your Jesus with others and helping others grow in Him.  Offer prayers concerning your activities for this day and any special concerns you may have.  Intercede on behalf of local, national, and world missions.  Pray the Great Commission would be fulfilled and for any special concerns you may have for missions.
