Read: Revelation 21

What a glorious glimpse John is given, and in turn gives us, of the future dwelling place of all of us whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life!  Everything has been made new!  The garden with the tree of life restored to us.

The physical description of the New Jerusalem is mind boggling - 12 gates made of pearl, the walls are full of precious stones and the streets are of pure gold.

The best part of all though is that the Lord Himself will dwell there with His righteous ones forever, and His glory will fill and illumine the city so that there is no need of light.

There are, however, things and persons which are mentioned in these chapters specifically that won’t be found in that beautiful place.  There will be no night (no need of a moon), no temple, no closed gates, nothing unclean, no abomination, or lying, no tears, or mourning, or crying or pain.  Hallelujah!

Sadly, as in the account of the beggar Lazarus and the rich man (Luke 16), there will be those on the outside who are obviously aware of their exclusion and pain (both physical and the pains of eternal separation from God).
Is your name written in The Book?
