Read Jonah 2:1-3:3
Have you ever known exactly what God wanted you to be doing, but you weren't doing it? Maybe it's your daily quiet time with Him. Maybe it's a message you need to share with someone, but you keep postponing it. It could be something really important that God has been calling you to do, and you keep quieting that convicting thought that God is giving you that won't stay away. It seems like God’s attention-getter matches the seriousness of our disobedience to Him.
Jonah 1:17 says Jonah spent 3 days and 3 nights in a fish to get his attention. Can you imagine that?! Jonah did the only thing he could do. Jonah 2:1 says, “From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God.” When Jonah surrendered to God’s will for him, he was spit up on land. I bet it was right by Nineveh.
I love 1 John 1:9. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
When we repent of our disobedience to God’s prompting and surrender to Him, He is waiting with perfect love and a perfect path for us, one He has made just for you and for me.
