Read Romans 8:35-39

I hate to admit it, but there are some things I’ll just never understand.  Economics, how the internet works, or why anyone cares what the Kardashians do.  And how God can love me.  I’m probably not significantly more difficult to love than the next person, but honestly, some of those “next persons” are hard for me to love!  I guess that’s the real key – hard for me to love.  We so often want to ascribe human characteristics to God, despite His telling us that “my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways.” (Isaiah 55:8)

Fortunately, I don’t have to understand how everything works.  Some things I just have to take on faith.  God’s love is one of those things.  Of course, it’s not a blind faith; there is evidence all around me.  Unexplainable peace amid trying times.  Blessings that are timed too perfectly to be coincidences.  And more importantly, the Bible’s promise that He does.  “For God so loved the WORLD that He gave His only Son…”  (John 3:16)  Not just for the lovable.  Not just for the perfect.  But for the WORLD.  That includes me – and all the rest of the “difficult to love” people around me.  What a cause for celebration!
