Read Romans 12:2; 1 John 2:16

The five senses: taste, touch, smell, hearing, and seeing, all report to the carnal mind - which is the enemy of God. These senses are what our adversary uses to tempt us!  The lust of the flesh includes tasting, touching, smelling, and hearing.  The lust of the eyes is seeing.  The pride of life is thinking you are special because of who you are, what you have, what you know, or what you look like.
It is so important to yield control to God's Holy Spirit every day as we deny ourselves and take up our cross to follow Christ, for the inner battle between Spirit and flesh is ongoing. It is also important to ask for God's help to resist these temptations.

Children’s minds are like sponges, as they absorb everything they hear and see.  It is very difficult to compete with the "noise" of the world, but we are to be the mentors and disciplers God has called us to be to the generations coming after us. We must teach our children to go to God's word daily, and pray for Him to give them a love and passion and self-discipline to stay in His word daily. We can only teach them what we have learned. Are you ready?
