Read: Hosea 1-3

"Keep - with a vengeance - your heart pure." What a strong message for today's teens and single adults; but how much stronger is the message to husbands and wives!

As Christian husbands and wives, I think we get "lulled to sleep" in a false sense of security. We think we can let our guard down at home, and around our Christian friends, and be fine, unaffected, unscathed.  We think we can resist the temptation in our own strength ... we can watch this, talk to him or her, listen to this or that ... and not end up on the wrong path.

God says, "We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way." (Isaiah 53:6)  Like Gomer, we have been bought at a price (Hosea 3:2, 1 Corinthians 6:20). The price paid for us? "The Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all." (Isaiah 53:6) Jesus paid the highest price!

Consider the value He placed on you, and be conscious of the decisions you're making - the big, but especially the small - and guard your heart so that you honor and truly love God with all your heart, soul, and mind! (Matthew 22:37)

Adoration: God is holy, mighty, gracious, and merciful. Spend time declaring your love for Him and expressing your thoughts of praise and worship.

Confession: Ask God to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

Thanksgiving: Express your thankfulness to God for the blessings He has given you. When we consider that we deserve punishment because of our sinfulness, and instead God gives to us His love and mercy, our only response should be one of thankfulness.

Supplication: Petition God for growth in your compassion and love toward others.  Offer prayers for your loved ones and others who do not know Jesus and for those in need.  Ask God to use you to tell others about Him and show His love. Offer prayers concerning your activities for this day and any special concerns you have.
