Read: John 10

Have you ever taken a moment to notice all the many different types of front doors on people’s homes? Most are unique to the style and taste of the homeowner but they all serve the same purpose.  They serve as a gateway for entry.

In John 10:9 Jesus said, “I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” Doors keep out what is unwanted and allow in what is wanted.  God told Cain early in Genesis that sin crouches at our door desiring to trap us.  What doors are you opening in your life?  Better yet, what doors are you closing?  We must close doors to sin in our life without so much as a crack left and leave them closed.  And, we must open doors of total access to Christ in our life so that he can shine His light in every corner of our lives.

As worshippers of Christ, we must be aware of and take responsibility for the doors we open and close in our life so that we can offer true and unhindered worship to the One who first opened the Door of Salvation to us!

Dear Lord,
Give me a discerning spirit to see the doors of sin that need to be closed in my life and the courage to close them.  Show me the specific areas of sin in my life that I need to repent from that are hindering my worship of You.  I want to open to You doors of access to every part of my life so that nothing remains hidden from You so that I can live a life of fullness in You.

In Jesus’ name,
