Read: John 10:10

A brand new year. A clean slate. An empty calendar. A new beginning. While many things change, some things remain the same. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) His reason for coming has not changed - “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)

As I look to the past, I see evidence of His work in my life. That gives me the courage to look to the future, knowing He will be there, too. I just recently realized that each member of the Trinity is with me at all times. They are not a tag team. Moses told Joshua that the LORD would “never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:8) Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would be with me forever. (John 14:16) Then Jesus Himself promised to be with me “always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)

Do you know my Jesus? Are you living an abundant life? Do you know, for certain, that you are never alone? This is a great time for a new start. Come on over. Let’s have a cup of coffee, and let me tell you about Him.

Adoration: God is holy, mighty, gracious, and merciful. Spend time declaring your love for Him and expressing your thoughts of praise and worship.

Confession: Ask God to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

Thanksgiving: Express your thankfulness to God for the blessings He has given you. When we consider that we deserve punishment because of our sinfulness, and instead God gives to us His love and mercy, our only response should be one of thankfulness.

Supplication: Petition God regarding your family and your ministry.  Ask for help and guidance in sharing your Jesus with others and helping others grow in Him.  Offer prayers concerning your activities for this day and any special concerns you may have.  Intercede on behalf of local, national, and world missions.  Pray the Great Commission would be fulfilled and for any special concerns you may have for missions.
