Read Daniel 3
It has been centuries since Daniel and his three friends lived in Babylon. Not much has changed. In just the last few years, men and women who declared themselves to be Christians have been imprisoned, beheaded, beaten, and burned alive while the world watched. It has been reported that they were calling on the name of Jesus in their final moments on earth.
Do such reports cause you to ponder the strength of your own faith? If you faced such consequences, would you still declare your faith in Jesus Christ? “If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.” (Isaiah 7:9 NIV)
Could you declare with Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah that “our God is able . . . and He will . . . but if not . . .”  Start practicing before the day of trouble. Tell someone about your love for Jesus today. Find a Christian brother or sister who needs to be strengthened and encouraged in their faith. (1 Thessalonians 3:2)
