Read: Matthew 22:37-38

Our Love for God is overwhelming sometimes, because we see so often in our daily lives, expressions of His Love for us all around us.

Recently, I had a troubling dream! I was driving down Germantown Parkway when a devastating flood of water came rushing toward me. I managed to get out of my car and found myself under the Walnut Grove overpass. As the waters began to engulf me, I desperately tried to hold onto the embankment under the overpass. In my mind, I was saying, “this is it, there is no way I can get out of this!”  And in that moment of helplessness, all of a sudden, I felt the hand of God gently covering my hand. A warm feeling of God’s love flowed through my body. The calmness and gentleness of His touch brought peace to my spirit, and I knew I was going to be alright.  I felt my love for Him as strongly as I had ever felt it before.

Even in dreams, sometimes God can reveal His undying love when life’s trials overwhelms us, and at the same  time, strengthens our sincere love for Him and and causes us to reciprocate that love to others.

Pray:

Adoration: God is holy, mighty, gracious, and merciful. Spend time declaring your love for Him and expressing your thoughts of praise and worship.

Confession: Ask God to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

Thanksgiving: Express your thankfulness to God for the blessings He has given you. When we consider that we deserve punishment because of our sinfulness, and instead God gives to us His love and mercy, our only response should be one of thankfulness.

Supplication: Petition God for wisdom. Offer prayers for your activities for this day and any special concerns you might have. Intercede for your immediate family and other relatives regarding their spiritual, emotional, and physical needs.
