Read: Galatians 2:20

Do you ever stop to observe or ponder nature? It is so easy to go through daily life without noticing or appreciating God’s creation around us.  Nature is filled with wonderful illustrations of God’s awesomeness and his perfect plan. For example, consider the mustard seed, only 1-2 mm in size, it can grow into a tree over 20 feet tall.  Or a caterpillar that starts as an earth bound larva, inching its way around the ground, and in a few short weeks is transformed into a beautiful butterfly, free to fly through the air.  Finally, consider the miracle of human life; two single cells come together and in 6 weeks produce a human heart.

Each of these represent awesome transformations, but none compare to the transformation that occurs when we accept what Christ did for us on the cross.  Paul said once he was crucified with Christ that, “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” (Galatians 2:20)  Jesus Christ’s death on the cross was the perfect sacrifice that allows for our perfect salvation.  Paul tells us in Ephesians that our new self is “…created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” (4:22) We were once sinners destined for eternal separation from God, but now are holy and righteous in His eyes.  Now that is a miraculous transformation!

God, thank you for your son, Jesus Christ, and His sacrifice on the cross!!!

Adoration: God is holy, mighty, gracious, and merciful. Spend time declaring your love for Him and expressing your thoughts of praise and worship.

Confession: Ask God to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

Thanksgiving: Express your thankfulness to God for the blessings He has given you. When we consider that we deserve punishment because of our sinfulness, and instead God gives to us His love and mercy, our only response should be one of thankfulness.

Supplication: Petition God for growth in your desire to know and please Him.  Ask Him to give you a greater love and commitment to Him.  Ask Him for the grace to glorify Him in your life.  Intercede on behalf of your local church, other churches, evangelism and discipleship ministries and other concerns you may have.  Offer prayers for your activities for this day and any special concerns you might have.
