Read John 12:1-8; 2 Corinthians 2:14-16
The sense of smell is powerful! I’ve never been able to identify it, but there is a scent that instantly transports me to my elementary school auditorium - after more than 50 years. Another takes me to my first classroom as a teacher. Still another reminds me of my first serious boyfriend. Newborn babies. Puppy breath. New cars. Then there’s that smell I associate with the dentist’s office. Ugh!
When Mary anointed Jesus’ feet, the “fragrance” filled the whole house. All the guests carried that scent as they left. They all smelled like Jesus.
Paul tells us that we are the fragrance of Jesus in the world - a wonderful, inviting fragrance to some, a hideous stench to others. As I seek to be “like Jesus,” others will notice the fragrance. What does He smell like today? Nard? Not so much. He smells a lot like gratitude, listening, loving, worshiping, and believing God.
Will you join me in living like Jesus? Let’s release His fragrance to a nation that seems to have lost its sense of smell.

One great way to weave worship into our daily lives is to fill it with music that helps focus our hearts on our great God.  Here is a Spotify playlist that has all the songs our worship team has led us through in the last month’s Sunday evening services to get you started. http://bit.ly/GBCPMThisMonth It’s updated weekly, so “follow” it to keep fresh worship music in your life.
