Read John 10

I remember, as a young boy, my mom gave me a bible. It was a King James Version, red letter edition. It had red letters everywhere Jesus spoke, and I remember when I saw the red words, I would really trust it, because that was Jesus speaking.
I love the book of John. It is the book of the Bible that led me to put my faith in Jesus Christ and be saved. This gospel is full of red letter words from Jesus. One of my favorite chapters is chapter 10. Jesus was telling the parable of the Good Shepherd. After speaking the parable, in His loving patience, Jesus then explained it. The theme in this parable is Jesus as the Good Shepherd. His sheep hear His voice and follow Him.
The devil wants to destroy the sheep (John 10:10), but Jesus the Good Shepherd conquered the devil by laying down His life for the sheep. He has all power and took His life up again and conquered death and hell, proving His " red letter words " are His voice. One of the most powerful eternal security verses is John 10:28, “and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.” This verse is so powerful. I have trusted it and shared it with others. As one of Jesus' sheep, this is a verse I am thankful for. I hear my Lord speaking.
