Read Romans 8:28
I truly enjoyed our most recent Sunday night sermon. Pastor Ron Norton shared four life lessons and biblical truths that are applicable for all of us at any age! One of my favorite points he touched on was the fact that things don’t always go our way. The Bible teaches us that, despite life’s difficulties, we still have hope.
Paul tells us in Romans 5:3-5 that tribulations will come, but that we take joy in this as it leads to perseverance, character, and hope. Romans 8:28 reminds us that for all of us that love God, ALL THINGS work together for good. That means even the tough things! In John 16:33 Jesus says, “In the world you will have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” No matter how bad things may seem, we will always have Jesus.
As much as we may want to, we cannot control every situation in our lives. However, what we can control, as little as we may want to sometimes, is how we react to those situations. God expects us as Christians to display Christ’s love everywhere we go and in everything we do. There are times in my life when I responded in selfish, angry, critical, or hurtful ways when something didn’t go my way. I pray that all of us will read God’s word, so that when those difficult situations come, we will respond in a way pleasing to God, so that others may see Him in us.
