Read Revelation 1:8

Revelation 1:8   "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."
When I was young, I wanted to learn to knit a simple scarf.  I found a ball of yarn, knitting needles, and attempted to follow instructions. Whenever I’d mess up, I would pull the one thread, and invariably, unravel the whole scarf.  The imperfect, completed scarf started with one thread and finished with one thread. One thread from beginning to end.
Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega – He is not only the Creator and Sustainer of all creation, but He is the beneficiary of all creation.  The revelation of the glory of Jesus is the goal of all creation. Jesus is the one thread that runs through everything.  Colossians 1:15-17 says “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”  Just like my scarf could only hold together if the one thread stayed in place, we are held together by Christ. Jesus is the only thing that keeps our world from both literally and figuratively falling to pieces.
Jesus is the constant, unchangeable God. Why should I put my trust in anything else? When I feel as though my world is crumbling, I can rest in His peace, knowing that He will hold me together until the end. The One who is the A to Z, the Alpha and Omega, is the One who “is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy.”  (Jude 24) Amen.
