Read: Revelation 7:9-10

My grandmother avoided anything she didn't understand. My dad once got her a new telephone that had "speed dial" buttons, and he carefully programmed in the numbers of people she called regularly. He then wrote the name of each person beside the corresponding button, and showed her how she could push that one button to reach the person she wanted. The first button was set up to call 911, and in the process of Dad explaining the system, Grandma pushed that button. Shocked that a 911 operator answered right away, she quickly hung up, only to have the operator call her back immediately. Grandma then declared that she didn't understand how the phone called someone that fast, and that she didn't need speed dial. She never did use those buttons.

Aren't we like that as humans? We tend to avoid things - and people - that we don't understand. People from other cultures, languages, and races live all around us, but we avoid them because we don't know anything about them. We walk right by that person who doesn't look like us, avoiding eye contact. We tell ourselves that it's okay, because we don't understand them. Someone else, who knows their culture, will tell them about Jesus, right? No. Sharing the Gospel is an assignment for all of us.

One day, people from every nation, tribe, people and language will gather around the throne of God. How many of them will be there because you told them about Jesus?

Adoration: God is holy, mighty, gracious, and merciful. Spend time declaring your love for Him and expressing your thoughts of praise and worship.

Confession: Ask God to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

Thanksgiving: Express your thankfulness to God for the blessings He has given you. When we consider that we deserve punishment because of our sinfulness, and instead God gives to us His love and mercy, our only response should be one of thankfulness.

Supplication: Petition God to help you be a faithful steward of your time, talents, possessions, and relationships.  Offer prayers concerning your activities for this day and any special concerns you have.  Intercede for your local, state, and national governments.  Pray for spiritual revival in the nation and offer prayers regarding any current events and concerns.
