Read Romans 12:1
During a recent roundtable discussion, someone encouraged another with these words ... "Act, and your heart will follow." She was challenging her sister in Christ to intentionally obey the Lord's command, even if her heart (in this case, her feelings) wasn't quite ready.
I believe the same is true in worship, particularly giving in worship. In Romans 12:1, Paul urges us, his brothers (and sisters) in Christ, "to offer our bodies ... to God" as our spiritual act of worship. Can't you hear the roundtable encouragement: give something physical as your spiritual act of worship. Sure, our spirit moves us, and more often, the Holy Spirit moves us to action, but sometimes we must determine in our hearts and minds to act even when we don't feel quite like it.
"Each of you should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." (2 Corinthians 9:7) Actively and cheerfully give to God's work, and your heart will follow!
One great way to weave worship into our daily lives is to fill it with music that helps focus our hearts on our great God. Here is a Spotify playlist that has all the songs our worship team has led us through in the last month’s Sunday evening services to get you started. http://bit.ly/GBCPMThisMonth It’s updated weekly, so “follow” it to keep fresh worship music in your life.
