Read: Genesis 1-3

I’m not very good at “crafty” things. I’d like to think I am, but truthfully, my artistic endeavors leave much to be desired. I have great ideas, and the right tools to create what’s in my head, but then I fall short of making the actual project. For example, I once went out and bought a canvas and some paints, excited to begin painting a beautiful picture. What I saw in my head was a gorgeous sunrise coming up behind an empty cross and an opened tomb. What I saw on the canvas when I was done were some rough brush strokes that looked like they were painted in a kindergarten class. For the most part, it’s fair to say that my creations fall flat.

Isn’t it a great thing that God didn’t fall flat in His creation? In just six days God created the heavens and the earth. By the very breath of His word, He spoke all that we know into being. He looked around at each thing that He created, and He proclaimed it to be good. And then on the sixth day, He formed man from the dust of the earth. I’d like to think that as He made Adam and Eve, He looked forward through time and saw me … and you. On that day, God looked at what He had made, and He proclaimed it very good.

You are His creation. And to Him, you are very good indeed!

Pray:

Adoration: God is holy, mighty, gracious, and merciful. Spend time declaring your love for Him and expressing your thoughts of praise and worship.

Confession: Ask God to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

Thanksgiving: Express your thankfulness to God for the blessings He has given you. When we consider that we deserve punishment because of our sinfulness, and instead God gives to us His love and mercy, our only response should be one of thankfulness.

Supplication: Petition God for growth in your character and personal discipline, and for physical health and strength.  Ask for Him to empower you for spiritual warfare against the temptations of the world, the flesh, and the devil.  Ask for help regarding your activities of the day and other concerns you have.  Intercede for the poor and hungry, the oppressed and persecuted, and those in control of world resources.  Offer prayers for peace among the nations and current events and concerns.
