Read 2 Timothy 3:16-4:5

Towering over the great city of Athens, Greece, stands the colossal structure of the Parthenon. After lecturing to us of the history of this famous structure, our tour  guide sat us down on the steps of the Parthenon and pointed to a hill to the west of where we were seated - Mars Hill. It was on that very hill where Paul preached his sermon to the people of Athens. We could hardly wait to scurry down the steps of the Parthenon and climb to the top and actually stand in the very spot where Paul preached his famous sermon to the Athenians. (Acts 17:22-31)  As we stood there on Mars Hill, I was reminded of a sermon my pastor loved to preach:  “God’s Plan is a Man.”

As we read through the pages of God’s word, we are made aware of how God used his people to proclaim His message. We could easily say that the preaching of God’s Word is one of the purest forms of Worship and is why the pulpit is at the center of the chancel in our worship experience, instead of being  placed at the side of the chancel.

When our Worship Leader leads us each week in worship - each facet of the worship service directs us to the central focus of our corporate worship experience. - the preaching of the word of God through His anointed prophets.

One great way to weave worship into our daily lives is to fill it with music that helps focus our hearts on our great God.  Here is a Spotify playlist that has all the songs our worship team has led us through in the last month’s Sunday evening services to get you started. http://bit.ly/GBCPMThisMonth It’s updated weekly, so “follow” it to keep fresh worship music in your life.
