November 18 through December 10

Chapel Cove Subdivision

The Vesta Home Show is a highlight event for the entire Midsouth, and this year’s show has been put right on our doorstep. Showcasing brand new homes with the latest in design and technological trends, this year’s show will take place in the Chapel Cove development adjacent to the eastern edge of GBC’s property. From November 18th through December 10th we have the exciting opportunity to provide attendees with a warm welcome as they park and transit through our campus while experiencing the show.

We believe God has set a plan in motion to allow us to share His love with tens of thousands of people. Volunteers are needed in all kinds of roles and we are asking everyone to find their place to serve. Will you join us for this once in a lifetime opportunity to serve our community like never before?

Volunteers at the show will receive free admission to tour the homes at specified times. Long sleeve t-shirts will also be provided along with training and instructions at the November 14th training dinner.

Vesta Service Opportunities

Service opportunities are broken into shifts of various times and lengths. Click a button below to go to the signup form for the specified dates.

Parking Attendants . . .

Directing traffic is an important job at any VESTA Home Show! Excited drivers are often looking here and there and not necessarily following directional signage, so it’s important to have traffic control volunteers who can help point drivers in the appropriate direction; and monitor where available spaces are, especially when spaces become available as visitors leave. This position does involve long periods of standing/walking in all types of weather.

Cart Drivers . . .

We anticipate large crowds throughout the run of the 2017 VESTA Home Show; which means some drivers will have to park quite a distance away from the show’s entrance. Cart drivers will patrol the parking lots and give visitors a “lift” to a spot closer to the show’s entrance. Volunteers in this capacity must be able to safely manage driving a golf cart; and adhere to designated routes for golf cart drivers in picking up and dropping off visitors. This position involves a lot of sitting, and being outside in all types of weather.

Ticket Takers - Welcome Area . . .

Volunteers for this position will be one of the first contacts for visitors to the show, so they must be comfortable greeting the public and answering questions. They will not be handling any money, but will be receiving already purchased tickets. They will help distribute literature to visitors when appropriate. Volunteers for this position will be somewhat protected from the elements in a 3-sided tent.

Ticket Takers - People's Choice . . .

One of the most fun activities for visitors to the VESTA Home Show each year is voting for their favorite home! Volunteers working in this position will assist visitors by explaining the voting process; which may involve explaining electronic voting. This volunteer opportunity may involve a lot of repetitive verbal instructions to visitors, but it also provides a somewhat protected environment from the weather in a 3-sided tent.

Cashiers . . .

Volunteers for this position must be comfortable handling large amounts of cash, processing credit card transactions, and quickly making correct change for visitors purchasing tickets on-site. A WestTNHBA staff person will be available at all times to provide instruction and supervision. This volunteer opportunity will be in a “ticket trailer” and is only exposed to the weather through a ticket window. There will be some degree of standing for long periods of time.

Site Maintenance . . .

Volunteers for this position may perform a variety of tasks to help keep the site clean and safe for visitors. This may involve some degree of lifting, bending and walking, and volunteers should be comfortable driving a “gator”-type vehicle or golf cart. At times, this volunteer may also be out in all types of weather.
