Read Ephesians 5:19; Genesis 50:20
When I was thinking about worship and music, a song sung by a christian band, Big Daddy Weave, came to mind. It's called “Tell Your Story.” The Bible teaches us to worship God with music and songs. Ephesians 5:19 says, “Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord.”
In the song, “Tell Your Story,” the lyrics proclaim the hope, the love, the life, the grace, the mercy, the kindness, and the victory of trusting Jesus as Savior and belonging to Him. The song is about sharing ‘our story’ with others, of how God has delivered us, and our deep gratitude toward Him. I love this song.
I thought about Genesis 50:20, where Joseph told his brothers, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” When we tell our story, God takes that story, and how He redeemed us through it, using it to help others going through the same struggles.
That, to me, is the ultimate worship - sharing in your life and words what God has done for you. This gives God true glory, which is the goal of our worship. May I say to you, “Tell Your Story.”
