Read Nehemiah 13

I really enjoy watching HGTV. However, I often find it difficult to identify with those couples looking for their private island, or beachfront property, or apartment in some romantic European locale. They're looking for seclusion, or easy access to restaurants and bars, or space to entertain and have parties. I don't mean to sound "holier than thou," but my first thought is, "But, where would I go to church?" At times like these, I'm reminded that I am, indeed, a stranger and an alien! (Hebrews 11:13)

I imagine Nehemiah felt the same way when he returned to Jerusalem. Those same people who had wept and vowed to serve the LORD, had embraced the ways of their pagan neighbors. They had defiled the temple, and had even forgotten the language of their God.

Strangers and aliens. We need to develop a taste for our uniqueness. We need to grow comfortable with being in the world, but not of it. Are you feeling a bit odd and out of step with the world today'?

One great way to weave worship into our daily lives is to fill it with music that helps focus our hearts on our great God.  Here is a Spotify playlist that has all the songs our worship team has led us through in the last month’s Sunday evening services to get you started. http://bit.ly/GBCPMThisMonth It’s updated weekly, so “follow” it to keep fresh worship music in your life.
