Read Ephesians 3:20-21

Several of my friends’ children have gotten married lately, so I’ve heard lots of wedding talk.  Flowers, caterers, cakes, photographers, and even details like forks and favors.  Sounds stressful!  Then last week I met a lady who had just returned from her daughter’s destination wedding in Aruba.  The couple picked a wedding package and then just showed up.  No worrying over details.  No sampling.  No choosing.  The wedding they were presented was far and above anything they had dreamed.  The only stress was in giving up control and trusting the wedding provider to pull it together.  Sounds way simpler.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  (Jeremiah 29:11)  If I could live like I really believe that promise, how much simpler my life would be!  I would trust His plans and just show up where He led.  No worrying over details. No stressing over situations I can’t control anyway.  I’m not very good at relinquishing control, but I’m working on it.  I think things will turn out much better if I’m successful!
