Read Jeremiah 1:5, Psalms 127:3, Mark 10:13-16, Deuteronomy 6:7

Today we have technology that lets us know the sex of our baby before its birth, if there are issues that could be harmful to either the baby or mother or both during the birth process, or even to let us know if there are multiple siblings. All this is wonderful and important, but not so mind boggling when you take into account what God told the prophet Jeremiah. The Lord told Jeremiah that He (the Lord) had formed and sanctified Jeremiah in the womb before he was ever born! Just imagine, technology can tell us so many things about our unborn child, but our Lord formed that child and knows his/her very heart.

The Psalmist tells us that children are the heritage of our Lord and His reward. What a responsibility parents, grandparents, family and friends have in protecting this legacy with which we have been entrusted. When we dedicate our children to the Lord, we are entering into a love covenant, not an empty promise.  The Gospel of Mark tells how Jesus had the children brought to Him and how he blessed them.

This Sunday as these parents brought their children before the church for dedication, they were entrusting their children to those present for guidance in the Word, all the way from the nursery until their children leave for college.  We are entering into a covenant with our Lord to love, pray for, teach, and protect these children.

One great way to weave worship into our daily lives is to fill it with music that helps focus our hearts on our great God.  Here is a Spotify playlist that has all the songs our worship team has led us through in the last month’s Sunday evening services to get you started. http://bit.ly/GBCPMThisMonth It’s updated weekly, so “follow” it to keep fresh worship music in your life.
