Read:  Romans 8:37; Hebrews 13:5; 1 Peter 5:7; John 14:2-3

I grew up in church - almost literally! I came to know Jesus at a very early age. I can’t really remember a time when I didn’t know Him. However, when I was six years old, I realized there was an ache in my chest. It wasn’t physical. Nothing physical could satisfy. Even after all these years, I can remember sitting on the front steps, talking to God about it. I recall sitting on the kitchen stool, talking to my mother about this “ache” for Jesus. After talking with our pastor, I made my public profession of faith.

My walk with Him hasn’t always been as obedient as it should have been. I never actually dabbled in the darkness, but I have edged over a little too close to the shadows on occasion. He never lets me enjoy those times, but He has always been faithful to forgive me, just as soon as I turn back to Him in repentance.

There are times now when my life looks and feels like a train wreck! On those days, I am constantly asking, “How do people make it without the LORD?” I can survive - no, I am more than a conqueror of the good and the bad days because my God-of-the-Bible is faithful and true to His word! He will never leave me or forsake me. He cares for me. He is, right now, preparing a place for me, so that I can be with Him forever.

Do you know my Jesus? Let’s talk.

Pray:

Adoration: God is holy, mighty, gracious, and merciful. Spend time declaring your love for Him and expressing your thoughts of praise and worship.

Confession: Ask God to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

Thanksgiving: Express your thankfulness to God for the blessings He has given you. When we consider that we deserve punishment because of our sinfulness, and instead God gives to us His love and mercy, our only response should be one of thankfulness.

Supplication: Petition God for growth in your character and personal discipline, and for physical health and strength.  Ask for Him to empower you for spiritual warfare against the temptations of the world, the flesh, and the devil.  Ask for help regarding your activities of the day and other concerns you have.  Intercede for the poor and hungry, the oppressed and persecuted, and those in control of world resources.  Offer prayers for peace among the nations and current events and concerns.
