Read Luke 24:13-35

How many of you have ever spent time worrying and stressing out about something and then later realized the solution to your problem was right in front of you?  For me, sometimes it’s as simple as finding my keys (right in front of my face,) or it may be as simple as finally asking a friend or co-worker for help with your problem.

Cleophas and his friend were discussing Jesus’ crucifixion on the way to Emmaus.  I’m sure they must have been sad, uncertain, disappointed, and probably scared.  Jesus, in their minds the greatest prophet to have ever lived, had just been crucified.  They had hoped He would be the one to redeem Israel.  Of course, then Jesus appeared and walked along beside them.  Scripture records they were unable to recognize him until He later broke bread with them.

It makes me wonder, how many times in my life has God been walking right beside me, and I failed to recognize Him.  In the midst of sadness, fear, or difficult situations we are often so caught up in focusing on our difficulties and not looking toward God.  Let us remember that, despite how difficult our situation may seem, Jesus has risen and God is always with us!

One great way to weave worship into our daily lives is to fill it with music that helps focus our hearts on our great God.  Here is a Spotify playlist that has all the songs our worship team has led us through in the last month’s Sunday evening services to get you started. http://bit.ly/GBCPMThisMonth It’s updated weekly, so “follow” it to keep fresh worship music in your life.
