Read 2 Peter 1:3-5

In my life, the Lord Jesus Christ's life and presence are an anchor to my soul.  I treasure the times He has spoken His promises to me personally. “Yes, child, it is, I promise” (my name written in the Lamb's Book of Life.)  And, “Yes, child, you will, I promise” (spend all eternity in heaven with me). And, “Yes, all your sins are forgiven, past, present, and future.” “I will never leave you or  forsake you.”

There are over 3,000 promises to us in God's word, and 365 times He tells us not to be afraid. Often times stress and anxiety can cause us to forget the riches of His grace, His mercies afresh every morning, and His precious promises to us.

He tells us we have not, because we ask not. (James 4:2, Luke 11:9)  I'm asking for all the godly qualities in increasing measure, for I want my life to be more effective and productive for my Lord, Jesus Christ.

There are times when we just need to cry, "Help me, Lord!"  For He is our helper and will always be willing to help us and do what  is best for us. The quiet moments, sitting still before Him, basking in His peaceful presence in His holy word can turn stress into calm assurance.
