Read: Colossians 1

Did you know that there is a force actively working to destroy the universe? You may recall from high school science that the universe is constructed from protons, electrons, and neutrons. And inside the nucleus of an atom, there is a combination of protons and neutrons. Protons carry a positive charge electric but neutrons do not carry any electric charge. In 1784, a theory named Coulumb’s law points out that these two forces are working to shatter the atom in which they are contained because “Like charges of electricity and magnetism repel each other.” So, these two factors shouldn’t be able to exist side-by-side.

Scientists have stated that these nuclei have no right to exist at all. Technically, they should all be blown up. They said, “Some inflexible inhibition is relentlessly holding them together.” They call it "Colossus" or “nuclear glue.” But Colossians 1:17 tells us, “He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

How does this affect your awareness of Christ actively working in and around us? What do you need to change in your perspective of who Jesus is and what His role is in your life? What an amazing comfort it is to know that all things are held together by Christ, our gracious and loving Savior!

Pray

Dear Lord,
I recognize You as the Son of God, in whom all things are held together. I also recognize You as my Savior who loves me and died for me to have salvation. Help me keep this perspective and let it influence all that I do. Give me an awe of Your presence in my life.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen
