Read Lamentations 3:22-23

I love spring, summer, and autumn - warm weather. Winter? Not so much. I absolutely hate being cold! In my perfect world, it would snow for two weeks during all the Christmas festivities, followed by the arrival of Spring.

While I don’t like to be cold, I love the look and sound of my world covered in fresh snow, before cars drive by and the neighborhood kids run through. Everything seems so new and clean. It’s almost like a new beginning.

The new year brings the same freshness. For a moment, there is a blank calendar. Most of us begin a new Bible reading plan. We are reminded that His mercies are new every morning.

Let’s begin this new year with confession of all known sin, repentance, and restoration to newness of life in Him. Happy New Year!

Beginning 2016 with Prayer

Pray for Your Heart

I need your help to guard my heart against bitterness, selfishness, and temptation to pursue the attention of others. Be my gentle shepherd. Lead me away from the activities and relationships that would keep me from prioritizing You over every other relationship.

Proverbs 4:23; Ephesians 4:31; Philippians 2:4; Mathew 6:13; Psalm 23:1; Hebrews 13:4
