Read Daniel 7:16-28

I recently visited a sweet elderly friend in the hospital who said she was more "sick" over what had recently happened in her church than over her physical problems. The leaders of the church of which she had been a member for 60 years, had recently voted to accept and affirm the homosexual population (membership, becoming deacons, leadership, marrying, etc). Her big question was, "What about God's holiness?"

This experience, like the one in Daniel 7, is "exceedingly dreadful" because God's Holy Name and character is being blasphemed by those who know the Word of God. In today’s culture, behaviors are being excused by claiming God's Word doesn't mean what it used to, that He is a God of love, and that “sin” has changed.

So how can we be encouraged to a "confident faith in a crazy world" such as the one in which Daniel lived, one in which we live now and will live in the Tribulation? We must know God's Word, that His kingdom is eternal, and that all other dominions will one day serve and obey Him. (v. 27) These crazy and evil times will pass away, but He will reign forevermore. We must also be sure our faith and confidence are in Jesus Christ and not in spiritual leaders. We must take our eyes off other’s behaviors and place them on God and His character. We must stand tall with confident assurance that one day the dominion of the evil one will be taken away (v.26), and all people will acknowledge His holiness and unchanging character.

One great way to weave worship into our daily lives is to fill it with music that helps focus our hearts on our great God.  Here is a Spotify playlist that has all the songs our worship team has led us through in the last month’s Sunday evening services to get you started. http://bit.ly/GBCPMThisMonth It’s updated weekly, so “follow” it to keep fresh worship music in your life.
