Read Psalm 150:6

Several years ago, my sister went through a season of redecorating her home. She wanted her faith to be visible, so she had an artist stencil a verse above her kitchen cabinets. She slipped verses into the decor in each room. One of my favorite pieces was a set of figurines, three silly rabbits playing musical instruments. This verse immediately came to my mind. “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD!”

Do you think that refers only to mankind? According to Psalm 148, “others” are commanded to praise Him. Sea creatures, fire, hail, snow, mist, stormy wind, mountains, trees, beasts, and birds. Yes, really!

Each week we hear our orchestra members praising the LORD with their various instruments. We praise Him with our voices. Jesus said that if we fail to praise Him, the very rocks will cry out. (Luke 19:40)

During this holiday season, don’t miss an opportunity to give voice to your praise. He gave you your very breath. Return it to Him in praise.
