Read Psalm 7:17

We were in the car, listening to a CD featuring Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, “Spring” to be exact. My fifteen year old said, “That inspires me to want to play the violin.” Hmm … That made me wonder about other music. What does country music inspire? Rock and Roll? Heavy metal? Hymns and praise choruses?

Worship music inspires me to - well, worship. It reminds me who the LORD is. It retells of His goodness and mercy. It always inspires me to serve Him better. When I sing His praises, I can feel the power of the Holy Spirit welling up in me. This is why Paul and Silas could sing hymns of praise to God while chained in prison. (Acts 16:25)

We live in an increasingly uncertain world, a world that seems to have turned upside down. One thing is certain, and it’s not death or taxes. “I, the LORD, do not change.” (Malachi 3:6) Let this truth inspire you to worship through singing. “My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises!” (Psalm 57:7)

One great way to weave worship into our daily lives is to fill it with music that helps focus our hearts on our great God.  Here is a Spotify playlist that has all the songs our worship team has led us through in the last month’s Sunday evening services to get you started. http://bit.ly/GBCPMThisMonth It’s updated weekly, so “follow” it to keep fresh worship music in your life.
